Description:
The way we live our daily lives – our choices, habits and context within which we live – have a profound effect on our planet, our communities and our wellbeing. Shifting towards more sustainable and attractive lifestyles to be mainstreamed in policy making, business models and education are core components in implementing the Paris Climate Agreement and Agenda 2030. Yet we are far away from decoupling economic growth from environmental degradation and negative social impact at scale under the norm of linear ”take, make, dispose” model of production.
The event connects the dots of Circular Economy and Sustainable Lifestyles. Policymakers from the governments of Japan and Sweden, business sector represented by Filippa K and IKEA, and the two research institutes, namely, IGES and SEI will exchange the experiences from the ground with innovative solutions and the core aspects to move towards sustainable lifestyles through upscaling of circular economy. The outcome of this event will be feed into the work of the 10-Year Framework of Programmes on Sustainable Consumption and Production (10YFP) Sustainable Lifestyles and Education Programme co-led by the Japanese and Swedish governments.
