As part of its continuous effort to move towards a more sustainable economy in Europe, and to implement the ambitious Circular Economy Action Plan, the European Commission has been funding countless projects that aim to develop disruptive and inspiring circular economy innovations.

The transition to a circular economy is supported financially through several funding programmes, such as Horizon 2020, COSME and the LIFE programme – to cite a few. The Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized enterprises helps the European Commission implement these programmes.
