Global Material Resources Outlook to 2060: Economic Drivers and Environmental Consequences

Description: 

In this side event the OECD will present new findings on global projections of primary and secondary materials use. Explicit attention will be given to the economic drivers of decoupling materials use from economic growth, and the associated environmental consequences. The side event will discuss a quantitative outlook to 2060 for materials use at the sectoral and regional levels, for 61 different materials (biomass resources, fossil fuels, metals and non-metallic minerals). A panel of discussants will provide insights in how these projections can help policy makers around the world.
