The European Commission

Published

Building a circular economy for Europe is a key priority for the European Commission. It adopted an ambitious Circular Economy package in 2015 and is planning further initiatives in 2017 to help European businesses and consumers to make the transition to a stronger and more circular economy where resources are used in a more sustainable way.

At the WCEF, the European Commission will showcase circular economy solutions which were developed with EU funding and inform about funding opportunities through the EU’s Horizon 2020 and LIFE programmes. Participants will also have the chance to learn about EU initiatives such as the EU Ecolabel, the EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) and the EU Environmental Technology Verification system.
