Hand-in-hand, sustainable consumption and production and inclusive green economies inspire and facilitate better choices for better lives and a healthier planet. A key concept of this joint pathway is circularity. Circularity implies using products for as long as possible: reusing, refurbishing or remanufacturing them at the end of their service life, and recovering/recycling a maximum of resources to avoid waste in production, supply, use and disposal. It implies, too, that goods and services will have as small as possible impact on the natural world. UN Environment offers a range of initiatives to support decoupling, decarbonising and detoxifying societies and economies.
