Making Finnish companies the leaders in corporate water responsibility

Challenge

The global water crisis concerns all of us. For the most part, Finnish companies use water in a sustainable way, but there is still room for improvement, for example, in the management of impacts of individual production plants on water bodies and the prevention of scattered loading of water bodies.

Solution

The commitment to water responsibility devised by Aalto University, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Ministry of the Environment, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke), VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd and WWF is a voluntary tool for companies to encourage them to regulate their use of water. The goal is that Finnish companies commit themselves to water responsibility, making them the world leaders in corporate water responsibility by 2030.
