HIMSS Global Health Conference: Fair and trust-based flow of health data in Europe

HIMSS, the global health conference of the international digital health community, takes place as a hybrid event on 9-13 August 2021. Sitra’s ‘Good Evening from Europe’ session spotlights the European perspective on the use of health data. In Europe, a new model is being built for the cross-border use of health data. The model is supported by common rules, taking into account full respect to individuals’ privacy.

Sitra’s president Jyrki Katainen will hold a keynote presentation on the fair data economy and the European approach towards the better use of health data. Bert Verdonck, programme manager for Health Data Spaces and Gaia-X at Philips, joins with highlights from the European industry perspective about what is the role of business in creating fair rules for health data.
