Sitra’s investment teams are combined into a new Sitra Ventures team

Sitra has combined its Life Sciences and Sitra Industry Ventures teams into a new Sitra Ventures team. The new team started work on 1 August 2006, headed by Director Pauli Marttila.

The team is in charge of developing the approximately 70 portfolio companies as well as organising the possible further funding rounds and the eventual successful exits. The team comprises 12 members.

“This new team will make the management of our venture-capital targets and the venture-capital activities within Sitra’s programmes more efficient,” says Magnus Sjöblom, Director of Finance and Corporate Funding.

All new venture-capital investments made by Sitra are targeted at the selected programme areas of Sitra. The venture-capital investments by these programmes are carried out in co-operation between the investment directors of the programmes and Sitra Ventures.
 
Sitra Ventures will abide by the same practices and principles as Sitra has done so far in the management of its venture-capital targets.

The development and projects in corporate funding activities will from now on be the responsibility of Director Heikki Ojanperä. Both Pauli Marttila and Heikki Ojanperä will report to Magnus Sjöblom.
