Esther Agricola

Esther Agricola has experience in stimulating the cooperation between heritage, urban planning and economic development in cities.

After working for The ‘post-war’ Foundation, the High Rise Network and the Dutch Institute for urban planning and housing, she researched the development of European Capital Cities. She was then selected as the director of the Dutch Expert Center for Urban Renewal where she focused on creating a platform in which innovation and learning by doing was leading. She then switched to the city of Amsterdam where she became director of the department for monuments & archeology, putting transformation and re-use on the urban agenda. Currently she is director of the versatile department for urban planning and sustainability in Amsterdam.
