Satu Korhonen

Satu Korhonen leads the Democracy and Capabilities theme area at the think tank Demos Helsinki. Satu is an organisation researcher specialising in user-oriented development and social welfare and healthcare services. At Demos Helsinki, Satu has led the future-oriented work of the Health 2050 project and Y-Lab, which reforms affordable housing in co-operation with Y-Foundation. Satu has a long-standing interest in communities’ capabilities to develop their activities and provide well-being. Active communities are the foundation of renewing democracy and meaningful planning. Satu promotes the culture of discussion related to democracy as a member of the executive committee of the Institute for Deliberative Democracy as well as at Demos Helsinki.
