Prospects for Transitioning from a Linear to Circular Economy in Developing Asia describes the circular economy principles for maximising resource efficiency while minimising carbon emissions and environmental degradation, as well as their importance as the region’s population and consumption grow.

The report also describes the challenges to integrating circularity in the region’s markets, how breakthroughs could reinvigorate economies and mitigate climate change and environmental risks, and viable policy options for incentivising and strengthening circular business models.

The report was edited by ADBI’s Derek M. Hondo and Linda Arthur together with Maria Hughes and Reetta Kohonen from Sitra. The editors and a panel of contributors to the report highlighted the report’s key results during a World Circular Economy Forum side event on 1 March.
