Faktabaari Forum: Towards digital information literacy in post 24/2 Nordics

Strengthening democracy by empowering citizens to tackle information disorders and digital power.

In the aftermath of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine the forum examines the state of information disorders, which extend to our mobile devices and social media feeds. Faktabaari Forum is an open expert debate forum supporting Faktabaari’s mission to serve fact-based public debate and digital information literacy development.

With the help of a leading misinformation expert, co-author of the reference 2017 information disorders report and current Chair of EDMO Ukraina task force Dr Claire Wardle, we investigate the knowns and unknowns of our digital information landscape. We will also discuss what different actors should do to tackle the ongoing information disorders.

Dr Wardle will also comment the approach of Faktabaari digital information literacy programme and Sitra’s Digipower investigation, which both aim to raise awareness on the ongoing information disorders in the Nordics. The two special focus groups will be the youth as media trendsetters and policy makers as regulators. The discussion also aims to empower the individual with some initial take-aways for a more authentic information diet.

Faktabaari Forum is powered by digital information literacy developer partner Sitra and with the support from the US Embassy in Helsinki transatlantic exchange programme on media and information literacy practitioners.
