Veera Heinonen

I am the Director of Sitra’s Foresight and Training function. I am responsible for ensuring that the foresight information produced by Sitra is of high quality and provides elements for alternative future outlooks. The information should also be useful for decision-making and reach a wide variety of Finns.

I have worked long in the world of journalism, where you need reporting skills but also have to be able to reflect on unusual issues and see alternatives to the present state. My second career included a period in the world of diplomacy and in the foreign service and as a Cabinet member at the President’s Office. This background has helped me to understand the importance of preparedness and that even in preparedness, the evaluation of different developments is essential.
