Which building blocks are essential for the next European Green Deal?

Since its launch in 2019, the European Green Deal has been the flagship strategy of the von der Leyen Commission. It has provided Europe with new jobs and investment, accelerated Europe’s green transition, and helped member states break away from fossil energy use.

A new European Commission will take office in late 2024. A Green Deal 2.0 should take an even more integrated approach to solving the twin crisis of climate change and nature loss, while boosting Europe’s competitiveness and strengthening its resilience.
