Development phase of data-driven ecosystems and networks 2023

Sitra conducted a survey, together with the research company Innolink, to find out how Finnish data-sharing networks, or ecosystems, are performing. The aims of the survey were to find out how data ecosystems and networks work and to create an overall picture of their level of development, challenges and strengths, as well as the benefits of data sharing.

The survey sought answers to questions such as:

1. How do Finnish data networks and ecosystems work and what are their needs?
2. What are the benefits of data sharing for the different participants in the ecosystem?
3. What value do the data ecosystems and networks create?
4. What is the governance model of ecosystems and networks?

The survey was conducted between May and June 2023 and involved 111 respondents from different data ecosystems across a range of industries.
