Deputy Director General
Barbara Dewulf is Deputy Director General at Bruxelles Environnement, the environment and energy administration of the Brussels Capital Region. She is also in charge of the Information, Coordination, Circular Economy and Sustainable City Division of this administration, responsible for the co–ordination of the Circular Economy Programme, the Good Food Strategy and the Waste and Resources Plan of the Brussels Region.
Previously, Barbara participated, on behalf of the Brussels Region, in the negotiations on environment dossiers at the EU and international level and co–ordinated the work for the Brussels Region in several networks and in EU–funded projects in the field of environment. She started her career in the Waste Department of Bruxelles Environnement, where she co–ordinated the work on the preparation of and follow-up to the 3rd Waste Prevention and Management Plan for the Brussels Region.
She holds a degree in commercial engineering from the University of Leuven.
