Established on the initiative of Sitra and Finland, the World Circular Economy Forum (WCEF) has been bringing together decision-makers and influencers to accelerate the transition since 2017. Thousands of people participate in the annual forum, representing sectors ranging from business and government to research and civil society. The forum is the most important international circular economy event globally.

The first WCEF was held in Helsinki in 2017, as Finland celebrated its 100th anniversary. The event, which became an instant hit, has since traveled the world: in addition to Finland, the forum has been held in five countries on four continents: Belgium, Brazil, Japan, Canada, and Rwanda. This year’s forum will be held in India in the fall of 2026. Read more about the story of WCEF so far.

Side events available year-round

In addition to the annual main event, the forum concept also includes side events. Anyone can organize these throughout the year, anywhere in the world, either in person or online. WCEF side events and their application form are now available on the new website. Check out the side events organised by our partners and sign up!

Do you want to reach new audiences with your circular economy event? You can register your own circular economy event on the list by filling out the application form. We promote WCEF side events on our website and social media channels in English, but your side event can be in any language.
